OUR STORY
Our Story
Sign Lite has been owned by Nelson and Kim Clatterbuck of Slidell since 2014, but it was originally founded in 1985 by Kevin and Kristine Alfonso. Nelson had joined the company in 1992 as a graphic designer, becoming a valued part of the team and almost like a part of the family.
So, when it was time to sell, the Alfonso’s gauged Nelson’s interest in ownership. After Nelson and Kim talked it over, they decided to do it: combining Nelson’s years of experience in the sign business with Kim’s expertise in accounting and business management.
Now, under Nelson and Kim’s leadership, along with a highly qualified staff: Sign Lite is still thriving and growing to meet the needs of their clients.
Our signage work can be seen everywhere along the Gulf Coast: from local businesses to sprawling casinos to towering New Orleans icons such as the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and Smoothie King Center signs. While Sign Lite mainly works from Lake Charles to Mobile, Alabama, they have gone as far away as Africa for special jobs!
As it has evolved, the company has expanded its design services along with the types of signs that it offers. Always looking ahead, Sign Lite has adapted to include the use of more modern materials and techniques. This includes adapting to the rapid increase in the use of LED lighting, which has opened up numerous possibilities for us to design the signs of each client’s dreams.
We are always open to new technologies to help improve both our process and the quality of our work. We’re always working to stay ahead of the curved and provide state-of-the-art options for our clients. When you work with Sign Lite: you’re working with 30+ years of the best in the business on a national level.
